COOKING UP SUCCESS
This holiday season, WW is cooking up success for are members! We know that it's challenging to Eat Smarter (one part of the Four-Way Approach!) during this season. We also know that Attending Weekly Meetings (yet another part!) is essential to member success.
Each week Nov 30-Jan 3, members will receive an exclusive holiday recipe in their meeting. In addition, each member will have three chances to enter a drawing for a gift basket filled with Land's End WW logo apron, Measurite set, selection of WW Sides, POINTS food scale, and WW cookbook, worth $100 total! Members receive a ticket to enter in the drawing when you: stay for a meeting, bring a friend who joins, purchase $20 in meeting room products. Plus, receive a BONUS ticket if you attend at least five meetings during the promotion period.
This time, the promotion is for At-Work members, in addition to traditional/traveler meetings - yay! I will also be holding a drawing in each meeting to ensure that each meeting has a big winner - prizes TBA!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Danville members - please note that our meeting will be held on 12/23 and 12/30, both Tuesdays at 4:30 instead of our usual Wednesday meeting. The meeting will move back to Wednesdays at 4:30 on 1/7.
If you purchased one of the 2008 Member Kits, don't forget about the coupon booklet included inside. The coupons have a printed expiration date of 10/31/08, but we have been given special permission to accept them until 12/31/08!
Is your regular meeting canceled this week or conflicts with your schedule? If you'd still like to attend one of my meetings, I will be subbing Monday night at the Castleton Center, Tuesday morning at Bartlett Chapel in Avon, Tuesday night at Lynhurst Baptist Church, Wednesday morning at Connection Pointe Church in Brownsburg, and Saturday morning at St Francis Episcopal Church in Zionsville.
NEW PRODUCTS!
Do you crave banana bread? Now you can have it, in a convenient portion-controlled treat! WW has introduced our newest Just 2 POINTS bar, Banana Nut Bread. It's made with bananas, nuts, and whole grains for a delicious homemade taste. It contains no artificial flavors and is a good source of protein. This could make a great breakfast on the run! Free samples of this new bar will be available in early January. The new bars will come in a box of four for $5.
We would also like to introduce our newest salty snack, Original Multigrain Crisps. They're thin, crispy, baked whole-grain chips with a satisfying crunch. Enjoy them on their own or with your favorite low-fat dip or spread. Free samples of our new crisps will be available in late January. The new crisps will come in a box of six for $4.50.
Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to two snacks to make room for our newest flavors. The Lemon Dream Just 2 POINTS bar and BBQ Pretzel Thins will only be available while supplies last. This is a good time to stock up if they're your favorites!

Potato and Apple Pancakes
Makes 10 servings
POINTS® value: 1
◊1 large Yukon Gold potato, peeled
◊1 medium apple, such as Pink Lady, peeled, cored, quartered
4 tsp dehydrated onion flakes
◊1 large egg, beaten
1/4 tsp table salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
3 sprays cooking spray
◊1/2 cup fat-free sour cream
1. Shred potato and apple into a medium-size bowl using the fine-holes of a box grater or shredder; stir in onion flakes. Press out as much liquid as you can by hand; drain liquid. Set aside mixture for 1 minute and press out liquid again; drain again. Stir in egg, salt, pepper and cinnamon.
2. Coat a very large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium-high heat. Drop potato mixture by tablespoonfuls into skillet and flatten each with the back of a spoon to make twenty 2-inch latkes. Leave at least 1 inch between latkes; you will have to do this in batches.
3. Cook latkes until golden on first side, about 3 minutes. Gently flip latkes with a spatula and cook until other side is golden, about 3 to 4 minutes more. Carefully remove latkes to a serving plate; cover to keep warm and repeat with remaining ingredients. Top latkes with sour cream before serving. Yields 2 latkes and 2 1/3 teaspoons of sour cream per serving.
