Advanced Skills, including SetPOINTS Values

Hello, Weight Watchers! Did last week's meeting help clarify the new Good Health Guideline for Liquids? I really want to stress that water is always going to be the most hydrating choice, but there's no reason that coffee, juices, alcohol, and other beverages cannot be worked into a healthy diet. Cheers!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Cathedral High School

PANIC BUTTON
I'm over my POINTS for the day. What do I do?

Let's start with my usual advice - take a deep and cleansing breath. Alright, now that we are calm and can think clearly, we can tackle the issue.

Do you have any Weekly POINTS Allowance (WPA) left? Those WPA are an integral part of the WW program, and are there to be eaten. (You never have to, of course, but they are always available to you.) Have you earned any Activity POINTS (APs) earlier in the week? Those are also always available to you.

If worse comes to worst, and you are over your PDPT, WPAs, and APs, I still believe this situation can be salvaged. The best thing to do is just start tomorrow fresh. Keep journaling for the remainder of the week - this is very important! It can be very tempting (even to experienced WWs) to let loose the rest of the week. That will almost certainly lead to a gain, while sticking to your PDPT the rest of the week and earning some APs can still lead to a loss, even if you are a few over your WPAs. You can do it!

ARTICLES OF NOTE
The first four weeks of materials are the "foundation skills" of the Weight Watchers Momentum plan. Once we have built our foundation skills, we may become less diligent about applying them, especially in situations like eating out.

In order to remain motivated, inspired, and following the program long enough to reach our weight-loss goals, we can make the plan even more interesting, novel, appealing, and livable the longer we follow it. Advanced skills, such as SetPOINTS values, can help accomplish this. Come this week to learn more!

Have a great week, everyone! I'll see you at your meeting!

As we know better, we do better.

I don't know who originally said it, but my WW Trainer, Karlene Herman, says it to me often.
