LOSE FOR GOOD
Check out the August issue of Weight Watchers Magazine for information about this year's Lose for Good campaign! Weight Watchers members throughout the country will be collecting food to donate to local food banks and Weight Watchers of North America has pledged to donate one pound of food for each pound lost during the campaign (up to one million dollars' worth) . If you are affiliated with a local food bank and would like them to benefit from your meeting's Lose for Good food drive (which we will discuss in more detail in the coming weeks), please let me know. The official campaign starts August 30!
ARTICLES OF NOTE
It's late at night, and watching TV just wouldn't be the same without a bowl of salty chips. You're short on sleep, desk is piled up at work, and it's time to take the kids to football practice. Won't a brownie make it all better? Can people really watch a movie without buttery popcorn?
Cravings can hit at anytime, and we frequently don't feel satisfied until we eat what we crave. If cravings are satisfied and handled as they arise, we can continue our weight-loss efforts without much interference or risk of a lapse becoming a relapse becoming a collapse. Come this week to share your best crave-busting tips!
Have a great week, everyone! I'll see you at your meeting!

Frozen Hot Chocolate
Makes 4 servings (1 cup each)
POINTS® value per serving: 3
◊1 1/2 cups fat-free milk
1/4 cup sugar
3 Tbsp unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa*
2 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
3 cups ice cubes
1. Combine 1/2 cup of the milk, the sugar, and cocoa in a medium saucepan and set over medium-low heat. Cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil, about 5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the chocolate. Let stand 5 minutes, and then stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Refrigerate until cold, about 20 minutes.
2. Combine the remaining 1 cup milk, the chocolate mixture, and the ice cubes in a blender; blend on high speed until slushy. Pour evenly into 4 glasses or goblets. Serve at once with spoons.
