What if We Called them Game Points?

Hello, Weight Watchers! Did you use the Mental Rehearsing Tool for Living this week to get through a challenging situation? I love using this tool in conjunction with Motivating Strategy and Winning Outcome to train for races, make it through a food-laden holiday, or plan our weekly meeting.

SNACKILICIOUS SALE
Until August 23, you can save on some of your favorite treats. If you buy one Just 2 POINTS bar, Baked Snack, or Pretzel Thin, you will save $1 on a second box! This is a great time to stock up or combine forces with a friend to create your own "variety pack."

SUMMER STAY AND SUCCEED CONTEST
Every meeting you attend from now until September 6 gives you three chances to enter our new contest! When you stay for the meeting, bring a friend who joins, or purchase $20+ in a singles transaction, you will receive a ticket to enter in the drawing. The Grand Prize (one awarded for each center and four awarded to traveler meetings) is a Land's End soft-sided cooler filled with $100 in Weight Watchers products!

TFL OF THE WEEK
Switching is a powerful mind exercise that can help you turn unhelpful habits into healthier ones.
  1. Identify a habit you want to change.
  2. Close your eyes and make a very big, bright, colorful picture (use juicy words!) in your mind of what you see just before the "bad" habit begins.
  3. Now replace the image with another big, bright, colorful picture of the way you'd rather behave.
  4. Imagine the picture of the desired behavior getting bigger and brighter as the image of the old behavior gets smaller and darker.

ARTICLES OF NOTE

In honor of the 29th Summer Olympic Games, this meeting looks at physical activity as a game - something FUN to do, instead of something you have to do. Athletes illustrate that when people pick an activity they love, it's easier to stick with it, play more often, and improve their proficiency at it.

Have a great week, everyone!

  • 2 tsp jalapeno pepper(s), pickled, minced, or less to taste
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp lime zest, finely grated
  • 1/4 tsp table salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground, or to taste
