WWINY AWARDS 2008
The WWiny awards are the WW version of the Grammy, Emmy, and Tony awards. They are celebrated every year at our annual Innovation meeting and are awarded to meeting teams in several categories. I am THRILLED to announce that the Danville meeting was awarded the Highest Product Sales per Attendance for an Individual Traveler Meeting! WW products are tools that fuel your success and this award would not have been possible without YOU, the members!

PANIC BUTTON
How do I handle Thanksgiving?
Deep breaths. Lots of deep breaths. First, come to your meeting this week! (We will be discussing traditional Thanksgiving food POINTS values.) Second, no matter what happens on Thanksgiving, come to your meeting next week! Meetings give you a fresh start, no matter what happened the week prior. WW isn't kidding when they say that Meetings members lose three times as much weight as those who go it alone.
Right now, while you're not yet in the tempting food situation, choose a goal for the event and formulate a plan to reach that goal. (What Tools for Living will help you do this? Do I want to use my POINTS food scale or Easy Measure serving set to help me with portion sizes?) What needs to happen for you to achieve your goal? Can those things realistically happen? How will you celebrate your success?
If the big day passes and you do not feel that you accomplished your goal for the day, it's time to practice that Positive Self-Talking and forgive yourself. Resist the temptation to throw yourself down the stairs after tripping on one step. (WW is open on 11/28 for a quick mental reset!)
SOMETHING'S COMING!
♫♫♫♫ Who knows? Could it be? Yes, it could! Something's coming, something good! If I can wait, something's coming. I don't know what it is, but it's gonna be great! ♫♫♫♫
Sorry for the West Side Story earworm, I couldn't resist. Something new IS coming to a meeting room near you soon! Make sure you hit a meeting the week of December 7. Lifetimers - there will be special goodies for you, too!
PRODUCT CORNER
Just a reminder - all 2008 cookbooks are on sale for half their marked price until January 3! This sale is good as long as supplies last - I have very limited numbers of Best Eats and My TurnAround and they are first-come, first-served.
To all who purchased 2008 member kits - I know the coupons say they expire 10/31/08, but we have been given special permission to accept ALL of them until 12/31/08. Yay! This is a great opportunity to try out a new product at a reduced price.

Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed in twelve minutes. Half-times take twelve minutes. This is not coincidence.

Smashed Grilled Rosemary Potatoes - Core
Makes 4 servings
POINTS value: 3
1 1/4 pounds baby Yukon Gold potatoes
4 teaspoons olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1. Put the potatoes in a medium saucepan and add enough cold water to cover. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat and cook just until the potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes; drain.
2. When the potatoes are cool enough to handle, with a wide spatula, gently press down on each potato until 3/4 inch thick. (The skins will split but the potatoes will stay together.)
3. Meanwhile, place a vegetable grill topper on the grill and spray with olive oil nonstick spray. Preheat the grill to medium or prepare a medium fire.
4. Combine the remaining ingredients in a cup; set aside. Place the potatoes on the grill topper and grill until browned, about 5 minutes on each side. Pile the potatoes into a serving bowl and sprinkle with the rosemary mixture.
