Look Back and Learn

Hello, Weight Watchers! Did last week's meeting inspire you to add music while you Move More? Any activity is always better than none, and music can motivate you to walk a little further, clean a little harder, or shake that booty off (literally!). Music can help lift your mood and give you the boost your workout needs.

LOSE FOR GOOD
Lose for Good is in full swing and, so far, a huge success! My members donated 135.8 pounds of food for the hungry through Lose for Good this week alone! Keep up the good work!

Don't forget that every existing member who brings a friend to join any traditional, traveling, or At-Work meeting will receive an instant free gift (while supplies last)! Even better, each new member equals even more food donated to Action Against Hunger and Share Our Strength!

Danville members - Mary Williams from Sheltering Wings will be collecting our donations at the October 15 meeting. Please check out their Wish List and double the good for victims of domestic violence in our area!

PANIC BUTTON
How can I stay motivated if the scale isn't moving?
It may be helpful to track your NSVs (non-scale victories). Take your measurements and have someone take a progress picture of you about once a month. (I didn't do this and REALLY wish I had!) Sometimes even if the scale isn't moving, you are still getting smaller and more toned. Can you fit into smaller pants? Can you exercise more without being winded? Did your doctor say you could chuck that blood pressure medication? All of these are GREAT ways to measure your progress that aren't scale-related.

COOL NEW PRODUCT ALERT
Coming soon to a meeting room near you - a new and improved version of the electronic POINTS food scale (including an expanded food database and new easier-to-read display) and Garlic Parmesan Pretzel Thins. Be on the lookout for Pretzel Thins samples in late October.

Sadly, we will be saying good-bye to Sourdough Pretzel Thins and Blueberry Crumb Cake Just 2 POINTS bars. If they're a favorite of yours, stock up now before they're all gone!

SUPER SALE
Our year-end cookbook sale is back by popular demand! All currently available cookbooks are half price from Sept 28 until Jan 3. Now is a great time to pick up the one you've been eyeing, or get a great Christmas gift for the Weight Watchers in your life.

Also, from Sept 18 to Oct 18, Fruities are buy two, get one free! At just one point for the entire pack, they're a great low-POINTS way to scare away the snack monster!

ARTICLES OF NOTE
This week, we will work toward mastering the Learn from Experience habit. This can help us recognize what's worked for our weight loss in the past and what has not. Insyead of criticizing ourselves for not being perfect (positive self-talking, anyone?), we can benefit from reviewing our setbacks and deciding how to manage similar situations more successfully the next time.

Our pasts are rich, personal libraries of experiences to build on - everything that's happened before can be helpful to us now. No failure, only feedback!

Have a great week, everyone!

Cyndi

If you will call your troubles experiences, and remember that every experience develops some latent force within you, you will grow vigorous and happy, however adverse your circumstances may seem to be.
